Program Coordinator - Contract Position
Roles and Responsibilities:
Baseball Manitoba’s Program Coordinator will be responsible for aspects of programming and administration that are encompassed within grassroots diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) portfolio, entry level coach and umpire development and the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Active Start, Fundamentals and Learn to Train athletes within Manitoba. There will be a primary focus on working with under-represented populations in Manitoba, Indigenous community development, inner city engagement and female participation. Other focused areas will include Coaching, Umpires and the Rally Cap and Grand Slam Programs. The coordinator will report directly to the Program Director on all aspects related to grassroots baseball in Manitoba.
Baseball Manitoba’s Program Coordinator will demonstrate a strong work ethic, high level of integrity and honesty. They must be attentive to detail, accurate in record keeping and possess an ability to work with a diverse constituency including players, parents, coaches, and volunteers. Baseball Manitoba will cover the phone plan costs and relevant job-related expenses during the time of hire. Baseball Manitoba will also cover mileage, meals, and accommodations, if required, for any approved travel.
Areas of Responsibility:
The Program Coordinator will be specifically responsible for the following list of responsibilities:
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - The Program Coordinator will be the Baseball Manitoba liaison and activity leader for all female, Indigenous, Inner City, New Canadian, Persons living with disabilities and other under-represented population-based programs. The Program Coordinator will connect with MASRC, First Nation and Metis communities, and other organizations as required.
Grassroots Programs - The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of the existing grassroots programs within Baseball Manitoba. This includes, but is not limited to Baseball5, Challenger, Rally Cap, Grand Slam, 11U Monster Mania, Winter Academy, Spring Break Camp, 5 Tool Camps.
Coaches and Umpires - The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating entry level NCCP coach clinics and NOCP umpire clinics.
