Baseball Manitoba's VP of High Performance, Kevin Booker, presented the Field of Dreams, and our 50th Anniversary Scholarships to all winners before the Goldeyes faced off against the St. Paul Saints Monday evening.

Warkentin plays for the Winnipeg South Chiefs AAA team. During his athletic career he has competed in the following sports: hockey, baseball, golf, badminton, cross country, track and field, curling and boxing. He volunteers with his fellow hockey team mates at the Ronald Macdonald House making meals for the families staying there. He graduated Grade 12 in June 2019 from Sanford Collegiate and received the Sanford Sabres Pride Scholarship, the Starbuck Hockey Academy Scholarship, and was awarded the Baseball MVP Award for his high school. Warkentin will be attending Williston State College in August on a baseball scholarship and is enrolled in the Associate of Science Degree program with the intention of completing a baccalaureate in science and then a degree in education. His goal is to become a high school science teacher with a major in physics and minor in chemistry.

Baker began playing for the Strathclair Boys team when she was eight, and for the Manitoba Girls Provincial Team when she turned eleven. This year is now her seventh year on the Girls team (now the 21U Team), and she has also been asked to play for the Team Canada Prospects Team. During high school she played multiple sports like volleyball, soccer, baseball, and badminton. She was asked to be Team Captain for several of the teams. She has been on the Student Council for the last three years, was Room Rep, Vice President, and President this past year. She volunteers for her local fair and drama productions. She has been a part of 4-H for ten years, and has been a part of the environmental club and highway clean up for several years. This year she was awarded the Kyle McLean service award. She will be attending Brandon University this fall for pre-athletic therapy.

Morris plays for the Elmwood Giants U21 Team. He was awarded the University of Winnipeg Entrance Scholarship, the University of Minnesota Make a Difference for Tomorrow Scholarship, and he was a Nominee for the University of Minnesota Honours Society of America International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, as well as many other academic achievements. He is currently attending the University of Minnesota in Morris, Minnesota where he is studying for a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. Morris is playing for the university's baseball team and plans to tryout for a minor league team after graduation.

Langlais was one of the first Manitobans in almost twenty years to make the Senior Women's National Team in 2019, and is currently at the World Cup Qualifier in Aguascalientes, Mexico. You can learn more/follow the team here. She coaches an all-girls baseball program through Baseball Manitoba, and was awarded the Female Player of the Year Award in 2018. She plays on Team Manitoba and has attended multiple 21U Women’s Championship Tournaments, winning the 2019 Bronze Medal just a few weeks ago. Langlais attends the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Kinesiology with potential plans of becoming a physiotherapist or occupational therapist.

Martineau plays for the Kildonan East Collegiate/Park City West Wildcats Midget A Team. He graduated from Kildonan East Collegiate with an Electrical Vocational Diploma as well as an Academic Diploma. He was on the Principal's Honour Roll every year and earned the Math Award of Excellence in Grades 9 & 10. He played on the school's baseball, volleyball and beach volleyball teams as well as participated in Club Volleyball and Community Club Baseball. He was awarded a KEC Athlete of the Month Award in Grade 9 and the KEC Baseball Award and the KEC Jerry Mackie Memorial Award in Grade 12. Morris will be attending the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Science this fall with the intentions of pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree and a career in Environmental Science.

For the last three years, Tataryn has played AA midget baseball for the Grosse Isle Jays. He began umpiring baseball at the age of 12, when his community was in need of umpires and is now an umpire for Interlake. He also umpires for Girls Softball in Stony Mountain. He volunteers with his local water foul youth shoot as a mentor and guide to ensure gun safety, he helps out with his local outdoor hockey rink with summer clean up, ice cleaning, and maintenance during the winter. He was given an award for his leadership from his coach, and was awarded the Woodland Wildlife Committee Scholarship for his volunteering. He graduated from Warren Collegiate, and is now enrolled as a full-time student at the Northwest Law Enforcement Academy for their 10 month Law Protection and safety diploma program starting this fall, with hopes of becoming an RCMP Officer or as a Border Security Officer with the K9 unit.
