2019 Awards Banquet Recap
This past Saturday we were proud to present our 2019 Awards Banquet. We honoured our best coaches, officials, players, teams, volunteers, and honorary members for their performances and/or contributions to the sport of baseball. We invited all coaches, umpires, league presidents, regional directors, and executive members to nominate those individuals who deserve recognition for their performance over the past year. The event was a great success, and we thank all of those who came, enjoyed the evening, and celebrated our another great year of baseball with us. Master of Ceremonies: Clayton Dreger, Sport Director Golden West Radio
Guest Speaker: Alexis Brudnicki
Alexis Brudnicki is currently a Blue Jays beat reporter for MLB dot com, and has put together an impressive resume in baseball over the past decade. She worked for the Toronto Blue Jays as a statistician and scoreboard operator for eight seasons, is the press officer for Baseball Canada’s Women’s National Team, has written for Baseball America, the Canadian Baseball Network, Fangraphs and The Hardball Times, with which she won an award for her writing from the Society of American Baseball Research, she attended Major League Baseball’s scout school and has also worked for the Australian Baseball League as well as the Great Lake Canadians, an elite amateur program based in Ontario. She has travelled the world covering baseball, running marathons and working with Habitat for Humanity.
