Dwayne Swanson, a long-time member of the Baseball Manitoba community, passed away last week.
Swanson was born in Winnipeg but spent most of his life living in Stonewall, Manitoba. His love for sports was evident as he played multiple growing up. He tried everything from fastball to soccer to track and field, and even broomball, but hockey was always his favourite.
Not only was he a successful athlete, but he was also a great coach and a huge part of The Stonewall Blue Jays community. He volunteered for the team for almost a decade, taking on roles like announcer and scoreboard operator.
All of us at Baseball Manitoba send our deepest condolences to the Swanson family and his entire community at this time.
