Pride Month and Indigenous History Month
All of us at Baseball Manitoba believe in creating a sport environment that is safe & respectful for all, regardless of a person’s ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity.
We encourage our community to educate themselves on the importance of both Pride Month as well as Indigenous History Month. We have compiled a list of helpful resources below:
Pride Month:
Many across Canada as well as the rest of North America celebrate Pride Month to highlight the history and diversity of 2SLGBTQ+ community.
2SLGBTQ+ is an acronym that stands for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning and additional sexual orientations and gender identities.
Canadian Women in Sport Resources:
Indigenous History Month:
National Indigenous History Month is a month to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada.
Visit our Truth and Reconciliation in Baseball page for more information on topics such as:
Although both these important topics are being highlighted this month, the public interest in either shouldn't end on June 30th. Again, we at Baseball Manitoba are committed to working towards creating a safe environment for all in sport, not only during the month of June, but all year long.
