Challenger Baseball

Challenger Baseball is a program that provides youth and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the full benefits of participating in baseball - at a level structured to their abilities.

Games are played in a fun, safe environment where no score is kept. Each participant is paired (one-on-one whenever possible) with an able-bodied "Buddy" who assists them throughout the game.

Buddies support Challenger athletes in many ways, including:

Pushing wheelchairs around the base paths
Assisting with how to hold and swing the bat
Providing protection from batted balls
Offering encouragement and guidance during play

Every participant is treated like any other player in a traditional baseball program:

Players wear official uniforms
Use standard baseball equipment
Play games at local baseball parks
